Land Rover New Discovery 5 information, history and specifcations
The latest generation of Discovery was released in 2017, with the Discovery 5.
A design revolution for the Discovery models, moving away from its previous designs to a much more rounded shape whilst still retaining the traditional Discovery stepped roof, reverse C-pillars and 3-row seating.
New Land Rover Discovery 5 offer more comfort and refinement than previous Discovery 4 models
The New Discovery 5 is extremely capable on all terrains
The vehicle's capabilities have stepped up from its predecessor with an upgraded wading depth and ground clearance increased. A new Surround Camera System gives a 360-view around the vehicle, and the Advanced Tow Assist provides an exceptional towing experience.
The off-roading capabilities have also improved with Hill Decent Control as standard and the new Terrain Response 2 and All-Terrain Progress Control Systems as optional extras.
The Discovery 5 sees an exciting upgrade to the cabin area including six 12v charging points, nine USB ports and 3G in-vehicle Wi-Fi, with the option of adding the innovative InControl Touch Pro. The addition of the new Remote Intelligent Seat Fold gives the user the capability to fully control the seating layout from inside or outside the vehicle through the vehicles mobile phone app or the InControl Touch Pro system.
The less noticeable change to the Land Rover Discovery 5 is the new aluminium body panels and chassis. This modification has dramatically reduced the weight of the vehicle by 480kg over its predecessor. Combining this with its more aerodynamic design has significantly improved the Discovery's fuel efficiency.
The Land Rover Discovery 5 with its innovative design and modifications is now produced in Slovakia, the first to move outside the UK.
