The 4th generation of Discovery was launched in 2009, an updated version of the Discovery 3.
The Land Rover Discovery 4 retained its integral body frame structure and added a restyled front grille and bumper with front and rear LED lights.

The Discovery 4 also saw a redesigned interior, in keeping with the new Range Rover models to lift the vehicle upmarket and improve usability.
The new minimalist interior featured luxury comfort seats and a new centre console with a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and MP3 connectivity.
The Discovery 4 also introduced a larger diesel engine, replacing the V6 2.7-litre engine to the new TDV6 3.0-litre engine, improving the vehicles fuel consumption and emissions. 
Another new feature added to the 4th generation Discovery was the Trailer Stability Assist and Hitch Guidance Control, with the option of the Surround Camera System to improve all-round visibility.
